Boarding procedures
Please arrive at the Otsu port 20 minutes prior to departure. Tell the ticket counter at the Otsu port that you have a reservation and your name. You will need to exchange your boarding ticket. After completing the boarding procedures, please relax in the waiting room until boarding begins. 10 minutes before departure, the boarding gate will open.

Now it is time to start your cruise on the Michigan. The Michigan, a paddle steamer with a bright red paddle, will take your breath away.

From the Sky Deck on the 4th Floor of the boat, you can encounter a panoramic view of Lake Biwa. Please enjoy the magnificent view of Lake Biwa.

The Michigan is full of photo spots. The ship has an extraordinary theme, with gorgeous interior including luxurious carpets and chandeliers that any photo you take can turn into to a piece of art. We also recommend the observation room where you can see the wheelhouse. We also have trick art exhibitions on the 4th Floor. In addition, the Michigan, which is also known as Japan’s first lover’s sacred place as a ship, has a “hidden heart mark” somewhere!!

The Michigan is also a restaurant ship. You can enjoy a hamburger or a drink while observing the Lake Biwa. ※Morning/Afternoon tea set is available through a different package.

During the cruise, crew members called the Michigan Purser will provide on-board information, sightseeing information, and furthermore performing in live. Events vary by season, so you can enjoy different performances at other times of the year.

Arrival at the Otsu Port
After a 60 minute cruise, you will return to the Otsu Port. We hope you enjoyed the wonderful cruise on Lake Biwa. After the morning cruise, you will have enough time to enjoy sightseeing other areas of Shiga and Lake Biwa in the afternoon.

Please be present at the Otsu Port (5-1-1 Hamaotsu, Otsu City) at least 20 minutes prior to departure. Weekends and holidays can be more crowded than weekdays so please allow some extra time to your arrival.

- For cancellations after 15:00 of the previous day, you must call the [Lake Biwa Cruise Reservation Center] TEL 077-524-5000
- Refunds for cancellations vary from credit card company to credit card company. Depending on the date of cancellation and the timing of the credit card company's deadline, the amount may be deducted from your account once. In such cases, the credit card company will refund or offset the amount at a later date. Please contact your credit card company for the refund date and method.

In addition, transportation IC cards cannot be recharged at the counter, so please recharge in advance. Other Ports: Cash only. On-board Michigan: Cash + PayPay only.
- <Luggage service> There are coin lockers at the waiting room of Otsu Port, if necessary.
- <Customers with infants> We have a room for breastfeeding and diaper changing. For more information, ask the cabin crew or refer to the guide map.
- <Wheelchair accessibility> Wheelchair access available from 1F to 3F (1F-3F/Elevator, 1 barrier-free toilet available on 1F) 4F Sky deck accessible by stairs only.
- <Wheelchair accessibility> 2 Barrier-free toilets available at Otsu Port Terminal.
- Bicycles may not be brought on-board.
